RIGGER 2 & 3 – SAUDI ARABIA

Description

The Construction & Industrial Manpower category plays a central role in delivering large-scale infrastructure and plant maintenance projects across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In major industrial hubs such as , demand for skilled professionals like Rigger Level 2, Rigger Level 3, and Pipe Fitter remains consistently high due to ongoing expansion in petrochemical and heavy industrial sectors. These roles are essential for maintaining safe lifting operations, precise pipe installations, and smooth coordination of mechanical activities within complex project environments.

Riggers are responsible for handling heavy lifting equipment, ensuring loads are secured properly, and guiding crane operations with strict adherence to safety standards. Higher-level riggers, particularly those with SABIC approval, are expected to demonstrate advanced technical knowledge and independent decision-making abilities. Pipe Fitters, on the other hand, are critical in assembling, aligning, and installing piping systems that transport fluids and gases within industrial facilities. Together, these skilled trades ensure operational continuity, structural stability, and compliance with strict industrial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Rigger Level 2 professionals are tasked with supporting lifting operations under supervision, inspecting slings and rigging gear, and ensuring that loads are balanced and secured before movement. Rigger Level 3 personnel carry greater responsibility, often leading teams, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating directly with crane operators and site supervisors. They must interpret lifting plans, verify equipment certifications, and ensure every lift complies with approved safety procedures.

Pipe Fitters are responsible for reading isometric drawings, measuring and cutting pipes accurately, aligning pipe sections, and preparing joints for welding or bolting. Their duties include checking material specifications, conducting pressure preparation activities, and ensuring leak-proof installations. All roles require strict adherence to safety protocols, regular equipment inspection, and effective communication with supervisors and quality control teams. Experience in industrial plant environments significantly enhances efficiency and reduces project delays.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates applying for these positions must demonstrate proven industrial experience, particularly within large-scale plant operations. SABIC-approved riggers must possess valid certifications and strong knowledge of load calculations, lifting angles, and equipment limitations. Physical fitness, situational awareness, and teamwork are critical qualities for safe rigging operations. Leadership skills are particularly important for Level 3 riggers who oversee lifting activities.

Pipe Fitters must have technical expertise in interpreting drawings, understanding piping specifications, and using installation tools with precision. Familiarity with industrial safety standards and quality assurance procedures is mandatory. All applicants should maintain valid documentation, including TUV certification where required, and demonstrate the ability to work under demanding site conditions. Strong discipline, punctuality, and commitment to safety are essential across all categories.
