The position of Rigger (Aramco Approved) plays a vital role in heavy lifting operations within industrial and oil & gas projects in Saudi Arabia. This job is essential for ensuring that all lifting, moving, and securing of heavy materials and equipment are performed safely and efficiently. Rigging professionals are highly important in construction sites, refineries, and maintenance projects where precision and safety are top priorities. The Rigger is responsible for supporting crane operations and ensuring that loads are properly balanced and secured before lifting. In Aramco-standard projects, safety compliance and technical accuracy are strictly enforced, making this role critical for smooth project execution and accident prevention.
Key Responsibilities
The Rigger is responsible for preparing and inspecting lifting equipment such as slings, chains, hooks, and shackles before any operation begins. They ensure that all loads are correctly attached and balanced according to lifting plans provided by supervisors or engineers. Communication with crane operators using hand signals or radio communication is also a key duty to guarantee safe and accurate movement of materials. The rigger must constantly monitor lifting activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with Aramco safety standards. Additionally, they are expected to identify potential hazards on-site and take immediate corrective action to maintain a safe working environment during all lifting operations.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have proven experience in rigging operations, preferably in oil & gas or large-scale construction projects. Aramco approval or certification is mandatory for this role, along with strong knowledge of lifting procedures, load calculations, and safety regulations. The applicant should be physically fit and capable of working in challenging outdoor and industrial environments. Good communication skills are required for coordinating with crane operators and site supervisors.
