A Safety Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment within industrial, construction, and oil & gas projects. In high-risk job sites such as Petrochemical facilities, the Safety Officer ensures that all safety regulations, company policies, and government standards are strictly followed. The primary purpose of this role is to prevent workplace accidents, reduce hazards, and promote a culture of safety awareness among all employees. Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer is responsible for conducting daily site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective actions. They ensure that all workers are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work procedures at all times. Regular toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions are conducted to educate workers about potential hazards and preventive measures. Experience in construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects is highly preferred. The candidate should have the ability to identify hazards quickly and make informed decisions under pressure. Good communication skills are essential for delivering safety instructions clearly to a diverse workforce. Familiarity with safety documentation, permits to work (PTW), and compliance reporting is also required. Certifications in OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety training are considered a strong advantage.
