Description
The Fire Watch role is designed to ensure continuous monitoring of work areas where fire risks are present. This position plays an important part in construction and industrial projects, especially during operations involving flammable materials or high-temperature equipment. Fire Watch personnel are responsible for observing work activities and ensuring that no unsafe conditions develop during hot work processes. Their presence helps prevent accidents and ensures that emergency response actions are taken immediately if needed. In large-scale projects like those in Jubail, Fire Watch workers are an essential part of the safety team, contributing directly to workplace hazard prevention and compliance with international safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibility of a Fire Watch worker is to continuously monitor areas where hot work is being performed. This includes keeping a close eye on welding, cutting, and grinding activities to ensure that no fire hazards occur. They must ensure that fire extinguishers and safety equipment are available and in proper working condition at all times. Fire Watch personnel are also required to alert workers and supervisors immediately in case of any smoke, sparks, or fire-related risks. Maintaining clear communication with the safety team and reporting all incidents or unsafe conditions is a key part of the job. Additionally, they must ensure that the work area remains safe even after hot work has been completed.
Skills and Knowledge
