Role Overview

The Work Permit Receiver (WPR) is a key safety position responsible for ensuring that all construction and industrial activities are performed under proper authorization and strict safety compliance. In projects like the Durma Project in Saudi Arabia, this role plays an important part in controlling site operations by ensuring that no task begins without a valid and approved work permit. The WPR acts as a bridge between the safety department, supervisors, and workers, helping to maintain a safe and organized working environment. This position is essential in high-risk industries where safety rules must be followed without exception.

 Job Purpose

The main purpose of the Work Permit Receiver is to manage the permit-to-work system efficiently at the project site. This includes receiving permits, checking safety requirements, and confirming that all conditions are met before work begins. The role ensures that every activity is properly authorized to reduce risks and prevent accidents. It is especially important in oil, gas, and construction sectors where strict safety procedures are required. The WPR helps maintain discipline and ensures that operations are carried out in a safe and controlled manner.

The candidate must ensure that safety checks, hazard controls, and isolation procedures are completed correctly. Coordination with safety officers, supervisors, and engineers is required to confirm that the work area is safe for operations. The WPR also monitors ongoing tasks to ensure compliance with permit conditions and reports any violations or unsafe actions immediately. Maintaining proper documentation and clear communication with all departments is an essential part of the role.

 Required Competencies

Applicants must have strong knowledge of safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and construction site operations. A minimum of 5 years of experience in oil, gas, or construction projects is required. The candidate should understand risk assessment, hazard control, and safety compliance standards.
