Rigger Level 3 • Scaffolding Supervisor (Aramco) • QA/QC Scaffolding Inspector • Scaffolding Foreman • Scaffolder

Description

The Shutdown Maintenance Workforce in rigging and scaffolding plays a critical role in supporting large-scale industrial shutdown and turnaround projects, particularly in oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors. These roles are essential for ensuring that maintenance, inspection, and repair activities are carried out safely and efficiently within a limited shutdown period. The workforce is responsible for creating safe access structures, lifting operations, and supporting heavy equipment handling under strict safety standards. Because shutdown projects operate on tight schedules, every worker contributes to minimizing downtime and ensuring that all operations are completed within the planned timeframe. This makes the role highly important for maintaining production efficiency and operational safety in industrial plants.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of shutdown rigging and scaffolding personnel include assembling and dismantling scaffolding structures according to engineering drawings and safety guidelines. Riggers are responsible for safely lifting, moving, and positioning heavy materials using cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment. Scaffolding supervisors and foremen ensure that all structures are stable, inspected, and compliant with Aramco and international safety standards. QA/QC inspectors are responsible for verifying scaffold quality, ensuring proper tagging, and confirming that all installations meet required safety regulations. Workers must also coordinate closely with other maintenance teams to ensure smooth workflow during shutdown operations. Strict adherence to safety procedures is mandatory at all times to prevent accidents and ensure site safety compliance.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates must possess strong practical experience in industrial shutdown environments, particularly in oil and gas projects. Riggers should have knowledge of load calculations, lifting techniques, and safe rigging practices. Scaffolders must be skilled in erecting and dismantling scaffolding systems using standard tools and materials while maintaining structural integrity. Supervisors and foremen require leadership abilities and a strong understanding of safety regulations and site coordination. QA/QC inspectors should be familiar with inspection procedures, tagging systems, and compliance documentation. All candidates must be physically fit, able to work in high-pressure environments, and capable of following strict safety protocols. Previous experience with Aramco or similar large-scale industrial projects is highly preferred.
