HELPERS – NOS 50

Description

The role of a Helper in industrial projects, particularly for SABIC, is crucial for supporting skilled tradesmen and ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations. Helpers serve as the backbone of industrial and construction teams, assisting in tasks ranging from material handling to site preparation and general labor duties. Their contribution ensures that project timelines are met, equipment is maintained, and work environments remain organized and safe. In large-scale projects like those at SABIC in Jubail, Helpers not only improve operational efficiency but also enable specialists to focus on critical tasks without unnecessary interruptions. The position is highly valued for its versatility, reliability, and contribution to overall project success.

Key Responsibilities

Helpers are responsible for performing general labor duties to support project operations. Their work includes moving materials, assisting skilled workers such as welders, electricians, or pipefitters, and ensuring tools and equipment are available and in good condition. On site, Helpers help maintain cleanliness, remove debris, and prepare areas for upcoming work. They may also assist in setting up scaffolding, basic assembly tasks, or shutdown activities, depending on project requirements. Compliance with safety protocols is paramount, and Helpers must report hazards, follow instructions from supervisors, and participate in safety briefings. By taking on these essential tasks, Helpers contribute directly to project continuity and efficiency.

Skills and Knowledge

A successful Helper must demonstrate physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. While formal qualifications are not always required, experience in industrial environments, especially on SABIC projects, is highly preferred. Knowledge of safety regulations, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and basic operational tools enhances their effectiveness. Helpers should be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately. The ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively with supervisors, and adapt to changing work conditions ensures that the workflow remains smooth and uninterrupted. Prior experience in shutdown operations or similar projects is considered a significant advantage.
