Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer will be responsible for conducting routine workplace inspections, identifying hazards, and implementing corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risks. Daily responsibilities include monitoring work activities, ensuring employees properly use personal protective equipment, conducting toolbox talks, reviewing work permits, preparing safety reports, investigating workplace incidents, and maintaining complete safety documentation. The role also requires monitoring contractor compliance with project safety procedures and ensuring all activities follow approved operational standards.
In addition to daily inspections, the Safety Officer will coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and workers to improve workplace safety awareness and maintain compliance with project regulations.
