Key Responsibilities
A Standby Man is responsible for continuously monitoring work activities in designated areas and ensuring all personnel comply with approved safety procedures. The role includes observing workers during hazardous operations, maintaining communication with the safety team, responding quickly during emergencies, and preventing unauthorized entry into restricted areas. Candidates assigned to confined space operations must ensure that entry permits are followed correctly, emergency rescue procedures are understood, and all required safety equipment is available before work begins. They must report unsafe conditions immediately, assist supervisors during inspections, and maintain accurate attendance and safety records. Skills and Knowledge
