SBM / Fire Watch (10 Positions Available)
A leading contracting company in Saudi Arabia is urgently recruiting experienced SBM / Fire Watch personnel for an upcoming industrial project. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified candidates with relevant industrial safety experience who are ready for immediate deployment. The project offers a 2-month contract with competitive hourly pay and provides an opportunity to work in a safety-focused environment.
SBM (Standby Man) / Fire Watch personnel play a critical role in maintaining workplace safety during hot work activities, confined space operations, and other high-risk industrial tasks. Their primary responsibility is to monitor work areas, prevent fire hazards, and respond quickly to emergency situations while ensuring full compliance with site safety regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
The selected candidates will monitor hot work activities, identify potential fire hazards, inspect work areas before and after operations, and ensure firefighting equipment is readily available. They will remain on standby during welding, cutting, grinding, and other hazardous tasks while maintaining constant communication with supervisors and work crews.
Additional responsibilities include enforcing safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, assisting during emergency situations, maintaining safety records, and ensuring all work complies with company and client HSE standards throughout the project duration.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Applicants must have proven industrial experience as a Standby Man (SBM) or Fire Watch. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of workplace safety procedures, fire prevention techniques, hazard identification, and emergency response protocols.
The employer is specifically seeking experienced professionals, so previous experience in industrial construction, oil & gas, or petrochemical projects will be highly advantageous. Candidates should also be physically fit, responsible, and capable of working effectively in high-risk industrial environments.
