RIGGER LEVEL 3 & 1 – SAUDI ARABIA

Description

A Rigger plays a critical role in construction, oil and gas, and industrial projects, particularly in large-scale operations such as Aramco sites in Saudi Arabia. This position involves the safe lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment and materials using cranes and rigging tools. Riggers are essential to ensuring that lifting operations are carried out efficiently without compromising safety standards. In high-demand project locations like Khurais, experienced riggers are key contributors to maintaining productivity and preventing costly delays or accidents. Their expertise supports smooth coordination between crane operators, supervisors, and ground teams, making them an indispensable part of any industrial workforce.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a Rigger is to prepare and secure loads before they are lifted and moved. This includes selecting the appropriate rigging equipment such as slings, chains, and hooks, and ensuring that all gear is inspected and in good condition. Riggers must communicate clearly with crane operators using standard signals to guide lifting operations safely. They are also responsible for calculating load weights, balancing loads properly, and ensuring safe attachment points. Additionally, riggers must follow strict safety regulations, monitor the surrounding environment for hazards, and assist in positioning equipment accurately at the designated location. Their role demands constant attention to detail and adherence to operational procedures.

Skills and Knowledge

To succeed as a Rigger, individuals must have strong practical knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment handling, and safety standards. Certification, especially for Aramco-approved rigging levels such as Rigger I and Rigger III, is highly important. Physical fitness and the ability to work in demanding environments are essential, as the job involves manual handling and outdoor conditions. Good communication skills are necessary for coordinating with team members and crane operators. Familiarity with load calculations, lifting plans, and hazard identification further enhances job performance. Candidates must also possess valid documentation, including Iqama and Ajeer registration, to meet project and legal requirements in Saudi Arabia.
