Key Duties and Responsibilities

The main responsibility of a Safety Officer is to monitor daily site activities and ensure that all work is performed according to approved safety standards. They inspect work areas, identify hazards, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented immediately to prevent accidents or unsafe conditions.

Safety Officers also conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for workers to improve awareness of workplace hazards. They ensure that all personnel are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols at all times. In addition, they prepare incident reports, maintain safety records, and support audits and inspections carried out by project management or clients.

Required Skills and Experience

Applicants must hold a valid SATRAP safety authorization card, which is mandatory for this position. Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards, risk assessment procedures, and emergency response systems is required. Prior experience in construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects is highly preferred.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, leadership ability, and attention to detail. The ability to handle pressure situations and enforce safety compliance on-site is essential. Experience working in multinational environments is an added advantage.
