Safety Officer / Permit Receiver / Rigger Level 1 / Rigger Level 2

Description

The roles of Safety Officer, Permit Receiver, and Rigger Levels 1 and 2 are vital positions in industrial and construction projects, particularly in high-demand locations such as Turaif. A Safety Officer ensures that all operations on-site follow strict health and safety regulations, reducing risks and protecting workers from hazards. The Permit Receiver plays an equally important role by managing and verifying work permits, ensuring that all tasks are authorized and carried out under safe and controlled conditions. Meanwhile, Riggers at different levels are responsible for handling lifting operations, ensuring that heavy materials are moved safely and efficiently using proper techniques and equipment. Together, these roles form the backbone of safe and productive project execution, especially in environments where precision, coordination, and compliance are essential.

Key Responsibilities

A Safety Officer is responsible for conducting site inspections, identifying potential hazards, implementing safety policies, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. They also organize safety training, maintain records, and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence. A Permit Receiver manages the issuance and verification of work permits, ensuring all safety requirements are met before any job begins. They coordinate closely with supervisors and workers to maintain a safe workflow. Rigger Level 1 and Level 2 professionals are responsible for preparing loads, selecting appropriate rigging equipment, guiding crane operators, and ensuring all lifting operations are carried out safely. Higher-level riggers may also supervise lifting activities and ensure compliance with lifting plans. All roles require strong coordination, clear communication, and a strict commitment to safety standards.

Skills and Knowledge

For a Safety Officer, strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures is essential. Candidates should have relevant certifications and experience in industrial safety management. A Permit Receiver must understand permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and site safety procedures, along with good organizational and communication skills. Riggers must possess technical knowledge of rigging tools, load calculations, and lifting techniques, with Level 2 requiring more advanced expertise and supervisory ability. Physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are critical for rigging roles. All candidates must hold valid certifications such as Ajeer, TUV, or third-party approvals, along with proper documentation and proven work experience.
