Fire Watcher (Long Term)
Industrial projects require experienced safety personnel to maintain a secure working environment during maintenance, shutdown, and construction activities. A new long-term opportunity is now available for qualified Fire Watchers who have proven experience working on major industrial sites. Candidates with strong safety awareness and relevant field experience are encouraged to apply for immediate mobilization. This recruitment is ideal for professionals who are ready to contribute to safe work practices on a long-term industrial project.
Why Fire Watchers Are Essential on Industrial Sites
Fire Watchers play a significant role in preventing workplace incidents by monitoring hot work activities and ensuring that fire hazards are identified before they become serious risks. They work closely with safety teams, supervisors, and maintenance crews to ensure that welding, cutting, grinding, and other hot work operations are carried out safely. Their presence helps protect employees, equipment, and project facilities while ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards and client requirements.
Primary Responsibilities of the Position
The selected candidate will monitor hot work areas before, during, and after work activities to ensure that no fire hazards remain. Responsibilities include inspecting the work area, maintaining readiness with firefighting equipment, observing workers for safe practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and communicating with supervisors whenever corrective actions are required. Fire Watchers are also expected to maintain proper documentation, follow permit-to-work procedures, and remain alert throughout their assigned shift to support a safe working environment.
Required Skills, Experience & Eligibility
Applicants must have 5 to 6 years of SABIC experience as a Fire Watcher or in a related industrial safety role. Candidates should have a strong understanding of hot work safety procedures, emergency response practices, and workplace hazard identification. A valid Chamber Certificate and Ajeer are mandatory for this position. Applicants who possess good communication skills, a responsible attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a safety-focused team will be given preference.
