The Work Permit Receiver (WPR) plays a vital role in ensuring that all construction and maintenance activities are carried out safely and in compliance with Aramco standards. This position is specifically required for large-scale industrial projects such as Marjan PKG12 in Saudi Arabia. The WPR acts as the main authorized person responsible for receiving, verifying, and managing work permits before any task begins on site. This ensures that all safety procedures, risk assessments, and operational controls are properly followed. In high-risk environments like oil and gas facilities, the WPR is essential for maintaining safety discipline and preventing accidents, making this role highly important in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
The Aramco Approved Work Permit Receiver is responsible for receiving, checking, and validating all types of work permits before execution of site activities. The role includes coordinating with supervisors, safety officers, and project engineers to ensure that all safety requirements are fulfilled before starting any job. The WPR must verify job hazard analysis (JHA), ensure proper isolation of work areas, and confirm that all necessary approvals are in place. Additionally, the WPR is responsible for maintaining permit logs, updating documentation, and ensuring that no work is carried out without valid authorization. Strict compliance with Aramco safety procedures is a core responsibility of this role.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have valid Aramco approval as a Work Permit Receiver, along with strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and permit-to-work systems. Experience in oil and gas projects such as Marjan or similar Aramco sites is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should understand risk assessment procedures, isolation methods, and safety documentation requirements.
