Description
The construction and oil & gas industry in Saudi Arabia continues to grow rapidly, especially in large-scale energy projects where strict safety compliance is a top priority. is currently hiring experienced Safety Officers for long-term project assignments in the Jafurah NSH project. The role of a Safety Officer is highly important in maintaining a safe working environment, reducing workplace risks, and ensuring that all construction activities follow international safety standards. This position plays a key role in protecting workers, equipment, and overall site operations, especially in high-risk industrial environments where strict safety enforcement is required at all times.
Key Responsibilities
The selected Safety Officers will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing health and safety regulations across construction sites. Their primary duty includes conducting regular site inspections to identify hazards, ensuring that workers follow proper safety procedures, and reporting unsafe conditions to project management. They will also be required to conduct toolbox talks, safety training sessions, and emergency response drills to maintain awareness among workers. In addition, Safety Officers will ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is properly used and maintained. They will also investigate incidents or near-misses and prepare detailed safety reports for management review to improve future safety performance.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, especially within the construction and oil & gas sectors. A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety-related roles is required, along with certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, and BLS, which are mandatory for this position. Candidates should have excellent communication skills to effectively train and guide workers on safety procedures. Strong observation skills, quick decision-making ability, and attention to detail are essential for identifying potential hazards on-site. Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or large industrial projects will be considered a strong advantage for selection.
