Description
The Rigger Level 3 position plays a critical role in ensuring safe lifting operations across construction and industrial sites. The main purpose of this job is to support crane operations by properly attaching, securing, and guiding loads during lifting activities. In oil and gas facilities such as Ras Tanura, riggers are considered a key part of the safety chain, ensuring that all lifting tasks are performed without risk to personnel, equipment, or infrastructure. This position requires strict adherence to Aramco safety standards and operational procedures, as any error can lead to serious hazards. The importance of this role lies in maintaining efficiency while ensuring maximum safety during complex lifting operations.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidates will be responsible for performing all rigging activities under the supervision of lifting supervisors and site engineers. Duties include inspecting lifting gear before use, attaching slings and shackles properly, and guiding crane operators during lifting and placement of heavy loads. Riggers must ensure proper communication through hand signals or radios to maintain coordination during operations. They are also required to check load weights, assess lifting plans, and confirm that all equipment is safe for use. Maintaining strict compliance with safety regulations, reporting hazards immediately, and ensuring safe working practices are key responsibilities of this role.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must have valid Aramco approval as Rigger Level 3 along with proven experience in industrial or oil and gas projects. A strong understanding of lifting techniques, load balancing, and rigging equipment is essential. Candidates should be physically fit, alert, and capable of working in high-pressure environments. Knowledge of safety procedures, toolbox talks, and risk assessment practices is highly important. Experience working in Saudi Arabia or GCC countries will be considered an advantage. Basic communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately are also required for successful performance in this role.
