Description
The HSE Officer and Work Permit Receiver roles are critical for maintaining safety compliance and operational control within industrial project sites. These positions ensure that all work activities are carried out under approved safety procedures, minimizing risks and preventing accidents. The main purpose of these roles is to safeguard workers, equipment, and the environment while ensuring smooth execution of daily project tasks. In industrial zones like Jubail, where high-risk operations are common, HSE and WPR professionals play a vital role in monitoring, approving, and controlling site activities according to company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
Work Permit Receivers (WPR) are responsible for verifying and issuing permits for different types of work activities after ensuring all safety requirements are met. They coordinate with site supervisors and ensure that hazardous tasks are properly controlled before execution. HSE Officers are responsible for monitoring workplace safety, conducting inspections, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. They also provide safety training, report incidents, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Both roles require continuous coordination with project teams to maintain a safe and efficient working environment throughout the project duration.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have strong knowledge of industrial safety standards, especially within oil, gas, and petrochemical environments. WPR applicants should be familiar with permit-to-work systems, risk assessment procedures, and S-Chem approved safety protocols. HSE Officers must have experience in hazard identification, safety audits, emergency response procedures, and site supervision.
