Role Overview and Purpose
The positions of Rigger Level 1 and Rigger Level 2 are highly important in industrial and construction projects where lifting and rigging operations are performed daily. These roles are responsible for ensuring that heavy materials, equipment, and machinery are moved safely and efficiently according to approved lifting procedures. Skilled riggers play a major role in preventing lifting accidents, protecting workers on site, and supporting smooth project operations. In large-scale projects such as Nariyah 2, experienced riggers are essential for maintaining safety standards and ensuring successful execution of lifting activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
A Rigger Level 1 is responsible for basic rigging activities including securing loads, inspecting lifting gear, and assisting crane operators during lifting operations. A Rigger Level 2 handles more advanced lifting tasks and may supervise complex rigging activities on site. Both roles require proper use of slings, shackles, hooks, and other lifting equipment while following approved safety procedures. The riggers must inspect tools before use, maintain communication with crane operators using proper hand signals, and ensure all lifting activities are performed without risk. Coordination with supervisors and safety teams is also an important part of the job.
Required Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
Applicants for Rigger Level 1 should have 7–8 years of non-Aramco project experience, while Rigger Level 2 candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in similar industrial projects. Valid original TUV certification and active insurance are mandatory for both categories. Candidates must have strong knowledge of lifting techniques, rigging safety procedures, and handling of heavy equipment. Good communication skills in English are required to ensure safe coordination during operations. Physical fitness, discipline, and the ability to work under pressure are also important for these positions.
