The primary purpose of this role is to prevent fire hazards by closely monitoring work areas and ensuring that all safety protocols are strictly followed. In major industrial zones like Jubail, Firewatch personnel are essential for protecting workers, equipment, and project continuity. Their presence helps minimize accidents and ensures strict compliance with safety regulations. This role is especially important in long-term projects where continuous monitoring and quick response to hazards are required to maintain a secure working environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Firewatch is responsible for observing ongoing hot work activities and identifying any potential fire risks before they become dangerous. They must stay alert at all times, watching for sparks, heat sources, and nearby flammable materials. In case of a fire, they are expected to act immediately using fire extinguishers or other safety equipment. Ensuring all required permits and documents, including Ajeer authorization, are available before work begins is also part of their duty. Firewatch personnel must communicate effectively with supervisors and safety teams, report unsafe conditions, and ensure that emergency exits remain clear. Regular checks of firefighting equipment and maintaining a safe work environment are also key responsibilities.
