The role of HSE Supervisors and HSE Officers in barge operations is critical for maintaining a safe working environment in high-risk offshore projects. These professionals are responsible for implementing health, safety, and environmental standards on heavy lift and pipelay barges. Their main purpose is to prevent accidents, ensure compliance with Aramco safety regulations, and support smooth offshore operations. In industries like oil, gas, and marine construction, safety personnel act as the backbone of operational integrity, ensuring that all activities are conducted within approved safety frameworks. Key Responsibilities
The selected candidates will be responsible for monitoring daily offshore activities and ensuring full compliance with safety procedures. HSE Supervisors will lead safety teams, conduct risk assessments, and ensure proper implementation of safety management systems on the barge. HSE Officers will assist in inspections, toolbox talks, incident reporting, and monitoring hazardous activities. Both roles require constant supervision of lifting operations, welding, rigging, and marine handling tasks. They must ensure all personnel follow PPE requirements, emergency procedures, and Aramco safety standards. Additionally, they will coordinate with project engineers and site management to address safety concerns and reduce operational risks.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must possess strong knowledge of offshore safety regulations and marine construction operations. Experience in heavy lift barges or pipelay barges is essential. Applicants should hold valid certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH membership, H2S training, BOSIET, First Aid, and BLS certification. Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and quick decision-making are important for handling emergency situations. Previous experience in Aramco projects will be highly preferred. The ideal candidate should also understand risk assessment procedures, permit-to-work systems, and environmental protection standards in offshore operations.
