Role Overview
Manlift and Scissor Lift Operators are responsible for operating mobile elevated work platforms safely and efficiently. Operators must understand the controls of the equipment, follow site procedures, and maintain awareness of workers and obstacles around the operating area.
Safe operation is particularly important because lifting equipment is often used around other workers, structures, vehicles, and industrial machinery. A responsible operator should inspect the equipment before use, follow operating instructions, and immediately report any mechanical or safety concern.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The selected operators may be responsible for positioning manlifts or scissor lifts at designated work areas and safely raising or lowering personnel and equipment. Daily duties can include checking the machine before operation, following designated access routes, maintaining safe distances from structures and other equipment, and communicating with supervisors and workers.
