Millwright Fitter / Piping Foreman / Safety officer
Description
An Aramco Approved Safety Officer is one of the most important professionals in the industrial and construction sector of Saudi Arabia. This role is highly demanded in major oil and gas projects because workplace safety has become a top priority for companies operating on Aramco-approved sites. Safety Officers are responsible for creating a secure working environment where employees can perform their duties without unnecessary risks or hazards. In large-scale projects such as those located in Amiral, Abu Ali, and Ras Al Khair, safety professionals help ensure that all operations follow approved procedures and international safety standards. Their contribution is essential for reducing accidents, protecting workers, and maintaining smooth project operations in high-risk industrial environments.
The position requires both technical understanding and practical field experience because Safety Officers work directly with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and labor teams. Companies prefer experienced professionals who understand Aramco regulations and can manage safety systems effectively on-site. This role is not limited to inspections only; it also involves communication, reporting, emergency response planning, and continuous monitoring of project activities. As industrial projects continue to expand across Saudi Arabia, the demand for qualified Safety Officers with professional certifications and strong experience remains consistently high.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of an Aramco Approved Safety Officer is to monitor site activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations during daily operations. Safety Officers conduct regular inspections, identify workplace hazards, and implement corrective actions to reduce operational risks. They also organize toolbox talks and safety meetings to educate workers about site hazards, personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures. Monitoring high-risk activities such as lifting operations, confined space entry, hot work, and equipment handling is also part of their daily duties.
Apart from inspections, Safety Officers are responsible for maintaining accurate safety documentation and preparing reports related to incidents, observations, and compliance activities. They coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and supervisors to maintain safe working conditions throughout the project duration. In Aramco projects, Safety Officers must ensure that all employees follow approved safety procedures and company guidelines without compromise. Immediate reporting of unsafe conditions and implementing preventive actions are essential parts of the role. Their presence on-site helps improve operational discipline, reduce downtime caused by accidents, and maintain project productivity.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates applying for the Aramco Approved Safety Officer role must possess strong knowledge of industrial safety standards, risk assessment procedures, and hazard control systems. Previous experience on Aramco projects is highly preferred because the position requires understanding of strict company regulations and safety procedures. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with workers, supervisors, and management teams. English language proficiency is also mandatory because most project communication, documentation, and reporting are conducted in English.
The company specifically requires candidates with original NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, and BLS certifications along with a three-year diploma or bachelor degree. Professionals with at least five years of Aramco project experience are preferred for this opportunity. Candidates should also be capable of handling pressure, conducting site inspections independently, and maintaining accurate records. Practical field knowledge, leadership qualities, and problem-solving abilities are considered major advantages for this role. Previous experience at Berri or Abu Ali sites will increase selection opportunities for applicants.
