The Safety Officer will play a vital role in maintaining a safe working environment by implementing company HSE policies, conducting workplace inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with project safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for implementing the project Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Plan while ensuring compliance with company safety standards. Your duties will include conducting comprehensive risk assessments, preparing Job Safety Analysis (JSA), verifying Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and monitoring high-risk activities to ensure all permit conditions are followed.
You will perform daily site safety inspections, identify unsafe acts and hazardous conditions, recommend corrective actions, investigate incidents, and assist in developing emergency response procedures. The role also requires preparing safety reports, maintaining accurate documentation, conducting toolbox talks, and promoting a strong safety culture across the project site.
Skills and Qualifications
Applicants should have previous experience working as a Safety Officer on construction, industrial, or oil & gas projects. Candidates must possess a solid understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment techniques, incident investigation procedures, and emergency response planning.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and report-writing skills are essential. Candidates should be capable of working independently, enforcing safety standards, and effectively coordinating with project management, supervisors, and workers to maintain a safe workplace.
