The Safety Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment across construction and industrial project sites. This position is essential in ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations are strictly followed, reducing the risk of workplace accidents and operational hazards. In large contracting companies such as Ocean Blitz General Contracting, Safety Officers are responsible for protecting both workers and company assets by enforcing safety procedures and conducting regular inspections. Key Responsibilities
A Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring all site safety policies in accordance with company and government regulations. This includes conducting daily inspections of work areas to identify potential hazards and ensuring corrective actions are taken immediately. The Safety Officer must also deliver safety training sessions and toolbox talks to workers, ensuring that all employees understand and follow safety procedures. Another key responsibility includes investigating accidents or near-miss incidents and preparing detailed reports with preventive recommendations. The role also involves monitoring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring compliance at all times. Skills and Knowledge

Holding a valid PKS Authorization card is mandatory for this position. Candidates must also have strong communication and leadership skills to effectively guide workers and enforce safety rules on-site. The ability to identify risks quickly and take corrective actions is essential. Knowledge of emergency response procedures, fire safety systems, and risk assessment techniques is highly important. Strong reporting skills and attention to detail are also required to maintain accurate documentation of safety activities.
