SAFETY OFFICER ( NOS 30 )
Description
The Safety Officer plays a vital role in maintaining workplace safety across industrial and construction environments, especially in high-risk project locations such as Jubail. This position is essential for ensuring that all safety regulations are properly implemented and followed on-site to prevent accidents, injuries, and operational disruptions. Safety Officers are responsible for monitoring daily site activities, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring compliance with company and government safety standards. Their presence helps create a secure working environment where workers can perform their duties efficiently without unnecessary risk.
In major contracting projects, especially short-term industrial assignments like the current 2-month mobilization requirement, Safety Officers are in high demand. They act as the key link between management and workers, ensuring that all safety protocols are clearly communicated and strictly enforced. This role is especially important in large workforce environments where multiple activities take place simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Officers are responsible for conducting regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with established safety procedures. They monitor construction and industrial activities closely, ensuring that workers use proper protective equipment at all times. They also enforce safety guidelines, conduct toolbox talks, and educate workers about hazard prevention and emergency response procedures.
In addition, they are required to report incidents, maintain safety documentation, and coordinate with site supervisors to resolve safety issues quickly. Their duties also include checking permits, ensuring equipment safety standards, and supporting emergency drills when necessary. Their active supervision helps reduce workplace risks and ensures smooth project execution.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates applying for this Safety Officer position must have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, especially in industrial and construction environments. Experience in Saudi projects, particularly in Jubail or similar industrial zones, is highly preferred. Applicants should be familiar with hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety auditing procedures.
A valid Iqama, Muqeem documentation, Chamber registration, and medical fitness including blood group and medical report are mandatory requirements.
