Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies throughout the project. Daily responsibilities include conducting site inspections, identifying workplace hazards, preparing Job Safety Analysis (JSA), verifying Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures, and ensuring compliance with approved safety standards. The selected candidate will investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, organize toolbox talks, inspect personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain detailed safety records and reports. The role also involves monitoring high-risk activities such as hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, and electrical work while ensuring that all safety precautions are followed. In addition, the Safety Officer will coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and workers to promote safe work practices, improve safety awareness, and support emergency response planning. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants should have a minimum of five years of experience working as a Safety Officer on industrial, construction, or power projects. Candidates must possess Saudi Electrical Company (SEC) Approval or proven SEC project experience. Mandatory certifications include NEBOSH, IOSH, and Basic Life Support (BLS). Chamber Registration is also required before mobilization. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of HSE regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, emergency response planning, and workplace safety standards. Excellent communication, leadership, report-writing, and problem-solving skills are essential. The successful applicant must be capable of working independently while coordinating effectively with project teams to ensure full compliance with safety procedures. Immediate availability and the ability to work anywhere in Saudi Arabia will be considered an advantage.
