SAFETY OFFICER/ RATE 32 – SAUDI ARABIA

Description

The Safety Officer role is a critical position within industrial and large-scale projects, particularly in high-standard environments such as Maaden-approved sites handling phosphate and aluminum operations. This role ensures that all on-site activities are conducted safely and comply with strict regulatory requirements. A Safety Officer not only protects the health and well-being of personnel but also safeguards project assets and maintains operational continuity. By actively monitoring safety procedures, the Safety Officer reduces the risk of accidents, supports compliance with Saudi Arabia’s industrial safety standards, and contributes to the overall efficiency and success of the project. In environments like Jubail, where industrial and petrochemical operations are extensive, the Safety Officer plays an indispensable role in maintaining a secure and productive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring all safety measures on-site. This includes conducting safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring that all employees and contractors adhere to safety protocols. They must review and approve safety procedures, coordinate with other supervisors, and provide guidance to staff regarding safe working practices. Maintaining accurate records of safety incidents, reporting violations, and suggesting improvements to minimize risks are also part of the role. In high-risk operations involving phosphate or aluminum, the Safety Officer oversees confined space entries, hot work operations, and emergency response drills, ensuring that all activities meet Maaden-approved safety standards.

Skills and Knowledge

Successful candidates must possess extensive knowledge of industrial safety regulations, health standards, and operational protocols specific to phosphate and aluminum processing. Experience in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident reporting is essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously are key to performing effectively. Effective communication is critical, as the Safety Officer must liaise with project managers, contractors, and employees to enforce compliance. Prior experience in Maaden-approved projects, certifications in occupational safety, and familiarity with Ajeer and Chamber registration requirements enhance the candidate’s suitability for this position.
