Description
The Safety Officer plays a vital role in maintaining workplace safety and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at industrial project sites. In this assignment, the selected candidates will be working in a highly regulated environment under Berri Gas Plant approved standards. The purpose of this role is to minimize risks, prevent workplace accidents, and ensure that all workers follow proper safety procedures. Safety Officers are considered a key part of any construction or oil and gas project because they act as the first line of defense against hazards. Their presence ensures that safety culture is maintained and that all activities are performed responsibly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
The selected Safety Officers will be responsible for monitoring daily site activities and ensuring compliance with all approved safety regulations. They will conduct regular site inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions immediately to prevent incidents. Another important responsibility includes conducting toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions for workers. They will also ensure that all personnel are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Reporting unsafe conditions, maintaining safety documentation, and coordinating with site supervisors and project engineers are also part of their daily duties. The role requires continuous vigilance and proactive safety management on-site.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, especially within oil, gas, or industrial construction environments. Experience in Berri Gas Plant or similar Aramco-approved projects will be highly preferred. Candidates should be familiar with risk assessment techniques, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures. Good communication skills are essential to effectively guide workers and coordinate with management teams. A valid safety certification and prior field experience as a Safety Officer are required. The ability to handle pressure, make quick decisions, and maintain discipline on-site is also important for this position.
