Description
The Safety Officer and WPR Supervisor roles are critical positions in industrial plants where safety, compliance, and operational control are top priorities. Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer is responsible for conducting daily site inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring all safety measures are properly implemented. They must monitor workers’ compliance with safety regulations, provide safety instructions, and immediately report unsafe conditions to management. Additionally, they are required to support emergency response procedures and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on site.
The WPR Supervisor manages the entire permit-to-work system, ensuring that all job activities are properly authorized before execution. They coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and safety teams to verify work conditions and approve permits. Both roles require maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring clear communication between departments, and stopping unsafe work activities when necessary. Their responsibilities are essential in maintaining full control over site safety and operational discipline.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have strong knowledge of industrial safety systems, permit-to-work procedures, and risk management practices. Safety Officers should be familiar with hazard identification, emergency response planning, and workplace inspection techniques. WPR Supervisors must have a clear understanding of work permit systems, especially in steel and heavy industrial projects like Hadeed.
Applicants must hold valid Hadeed approval or ID, along with relevant site experience in Saudi industrial projects.
