The Scaffolder position is designed for individuals who can safely erect, modify, and dismantle scaffolding structures according to engineering drawings and safety standards. The main purpose of this role is to provide secure working platforms for technicians, engineers, and labor teams working at elevated areas. In industries such as construction and oil & gas, scaffolding is considered a backbone of safe execution of work activities. Without proper scaffolding, many critical tasks cannot be performed efficiently or safely. This job requires strong attention to detail and strict compliance with safety regulations, especially in high-pressure environments where accuracy and stability are essential for protecting workers and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
The main duties of a Scaffolder include assembling scaffolding structures using pipes, clamps, and metal frameworks while ensuring complete stability and safety. The worker must inspect all scaffolding materials before use and ensure that they are free from damage or defects. They are responsible for following technical drawings and instructions provided by supervisors to build secure platforms. Another important duty is to regularly check installed scaffolds to ensure they remain safe throughout the project duration. Scaffolders must also assist in dismantling structures once the project work is completed, ensuring materials are properly stored for future use. Maintaining safety standards at all times and coordinating with site engineers and safety officers is a critical part of this role.
Skills and Knowledge
A qualified Scaffolder must have strong practical knowledge of scaffolding techniques, safety procedures, and industrial construction standards. Experience in handling different types of scaffolding systems is highly preferred, especially in large construction or oil & gas projects. Candidates should understand load-bearing capacity, height safety regulations, and proper use of tools and equipment. Certification such as TUV approval is mandatory for this position, along with valid chamber registration. Physical strength, balance, and the ability to work in challenging outdoor environments are important. Good teamwork and communication skills are also required, as scaffolders must coordinate closely with other site workers to ensure safe operations.
