Description
The Work Permit Receiver (WPR) role is a critical position within large-scale oil, gas, and industrial operations, especially in Aramco-approved projects across Saudi Arabia. This job is essential for maintaining safe working environments and ensuring that all site activities are carried out under strict permit-to-work systems. Jabal Al Safat Trading Est is urgently hiring experienced WPR professionals for an immediate mobilization project in Ras Tanura. The selected candidates will be part of a shutdown and maintenance support team where safety compliance, coordination, and operational control are top priorities. This role is highly valued in the industry because it directly supports risk management and ensures that hazardous work is properly authorized and monitored before execution begins.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of a Work Permit Receiver is to handle and manage work permits for various industrial activities on-site. This includes receiving, reviewing, and validating permits before allowing any maintenance or operational work to proceed. The WPR ensures that all safety requirements, isolation procedures, and hazard controls are properly implemented in coordination with the safety team and site supervisors. They are also responsible for communicating permit conditions clearly to workers and ensuring full compliance with Aramco safety standards throughout the job execution process.
In addition, WPR personnel continuously monitor ongoing activities to confirm that all work remains within approved permit conditions. They coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and operations staff to manage multiple permits efficiently, especially during shutdown projects where multiple tasks occur simultaneously. Maintaining accurate documentation, reporting unsafe conditions, and ensuring smooth communication between departments are also key parts of this role.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants for the Aramco WPR position must have strong knowledge of industrial safety systems and work permit procedures. Candidates should be familiar with different types of permits such as hot work, cold work, confined space entry, and excavation permits. Experience in oil and gas or industrial shutdown projects is highly preferred, as the role demands quick decision-making and strong coordination skills in high-pressure environments.
Good communication skills are essential, as WPR professionals regularly interact with multiple teams including supervisors, safety officers, and field workers. Candidates should also be able to read and understand technical documents, safety guidelines, and operational procedures. A valid Ajeer registration, along with updated documents such as Iqama, passport, medical fitness, and chamber certification, is mandatory for this recruitment process.
