Description
The Rigger role is designed to support lifting and moving heavy materials in industrial environments such as oil refineries, construction zones, and maintenance projects. The main purpose of this job is to ensure that all rigging activities are performed safely and according to engineering and safety guidelines. A Rigger Level 3 works under supervision but is responsible for independently handling basic to intermediate lifting tasks. This includes preparing lifting equipment, inspecting tools, and assisting crane operations. The position is important because it reduces operational risks and ensures that heavy loads are moved without accidents or damage to equipment.
Key Responsibilities
The main duties of a rigger include preparing and inspecting lifting gear before operations, attaching loads securely using approved slings, shackles, and chains, and guiding crane operators during lifting activities using hand signals or communication tools. The rigger must ensure that all loads are balanced, stable, and lifted according to safety procedures. They are also responsible for checking site conditions before any lifting activity begins and reporting any unsafe situations immediately. Coordination with supervisors, crane operators, and safety officers is essential to ensure smooth workflow. Proper execution of lifting plans and adherence to Aramco safety rules are mandatory at all times.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates applying for the Rigger Level 3 position must have strong practical experience in industrial rigging operations. Knowledge of lifting techniques, load calculations, and rigging equipment is essential. Candidates should be physically fit and capable of working in demanding outdoor environments. Understanding of Aramco safety standards is highly preferred, along with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately. Experience in oil and gas projects is considered an advantage. Communication skills, teamwork, and alertness are important qualities for maintaining safety on site. Basic certification in rigging and prior site experience are required for selection.
