Description
The Crane Operator plays a vital role in heavy lifting operations within large industrial and oil & gas projects. This position is specifically required for Aramco-approved operations in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region. The main responsibility of the Crane Operator is to safely handle and operate 80-ton Tadano cranes for lifting, shifting, and placing heavy equipment and materials at project sites. This role is highly important in ensuring smooth construction and maintenance activities in refinery and offshore-related environments such as Safaniya and Jubail. The operator must strictly follow Aramco safety standards and ensure zero-risk execution during lifting operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Crane Operator is responsible for operating heavy-duty cranes efficiently and safely according to lifting plans and site instructions. Duties include performing pre-operation inspections, ensuring crane stability, checking load limits, and coordinating with rigging teams during lifting activities. The operator must follow all hand signals and communication instructions from signalmen and riggers to ensure accurate load movement. Maintaining daily equipment logs, reporting mechanical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations are also key responsibilities. The role requires strict attention to detail to prevent accidents and ensure smooth project execution in high-risk industrial environments.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must have strong experience operating 80-ton Tadano cranes, preferably GR-800 models, in industrial or oil & gas projects. Aramco approval is mandatory for selection. Candidates should have knowledge of tandem lifting operations, man basket handling, and crane load management techniques. Valid certifications for crane operation, lifting, and safety procedures are required. The candidate must be physically fit, alert, and capable of working under pressure in outdoor environments. Strong understanding of safety protocols, teamwork, and communication with rigging crews is essential for this role.
