Description
A Heavy Driver (Trailer) plays an important role in supporting logistics and transportation operations within construction, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment, materials, and machinery between project sites and designated locations. In large-scale projects across Saudi Arabia, skilled trailer drivers are essential for maintaining smooth supply chain operations and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The role requires a strong sense of responsibility, road safety awareness, and the ability to handle heavy vehicles under different working conditions. Heavy Drivers contribute significantly to project efficiency by ensuring that transportation activities are completed safely and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibility of a Heavy Driver is to operate trailer trucks safely and efficiently while following all traffic laws and company regulations. Drivers are required to transport construction materials, machinery, and project-related goods to assigned destinations without delays. They must ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo, inspect vehicles before and after trips, and report any mechanical issues to supervisors. Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and ensuring all safety checks are completed before travel are also part of daily duties. Heavy Drivers must strictly follow site instructions, coordinate with logistics teams, and maintain accurate transport records when required.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must possess a valid heavy driving license suitable for trailer operations and have experience in industrial or construction transportation work. Knowledge of road safety rules, vehicle maintenance basics, and load handling procedures is essential. Previous experience in Gulf countries or large project environments is an advantage. Drivers should have good physical fitness, alertness, and the ability to work long hours under different weather and site conditions.
