Description
The roles of Fire Watcher, Work Permit Receiver (WPR), and Coating Applicator are essential positions within industrial construction and maintenance projects, particularly in oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors. These jobs are currently in high demand for the Tayyar Al-Arab General Contracting Est. (TAGC) project in Yanbu, where safety, quality, and operational discipline are top priorities. A Fire Watcher is responsible for monitoring hot work activities to prevent fire hazards, while a WPR ensures all permits and safety authorizations are properly managed before work begins. The Coating Applicator plays a key role in surface protection by applying industrial coatings that safeguard structures from corrosion and environmental damage. Together, these roles ensure safe execution and long-term durability of industrial projects, making them highly valuable in Aramco-related and non-Aramco field operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Fire Watcher is responsible for continuously observing welding, cutting, and other hot work activities to ensure no fire hazards occur. They must remain alert, equipped with fire extinguishing tools, and ready to respond immediately in case of emergency. The Work Permit Receiver (WPR) ensures that all work permits are properly obtained, verified, and followed according to site safety procedures. They coordinate between supervisors, safety officers, and workers to ensure compliance with Aramco and site-specific regulations. The Coating Applicator is responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing coating materials, and applying protective layers using approved techniques. All three roles require strict adherence to safety standards, teamwork, and constant communication with site engineers and supervisors to maintain a safe working environment and smooth workflow.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have relevant qualifications and proven experience in their respective fields. For WPR, a valid 3rd party certification, strong English reading and writing skills, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in non-Aramco green field projects are required. Fire Watchers must also hold a valid 3rd party firewatch certificate, possess good communication skills, and ideally have at least 3 years of experience in similar industrial environments. Coating Applicators must have valid NACE, SSPC, or equivalent certification, along with practical knowledge of surface preparation and coating application techniques. All candidates should have an Aramco vendor code and a strong understanding of safety procedures. Basic education at high school level or above is required, along with discipline, alertness, and the ability to work under pressure in industrial environments.
