Description

The Safety Officer role is a highly responsible position in industrial, construction, and oil & gas sectors, particularly in major projects across Saudi Arabia such as Abqaiq. This job focuses on ensuring a safe working environment by implementing strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at all levels of operations. The Safety Officer acts as the key guardian of workplace safety, ensuring that all employees, contractors, and site activities comply with approved safety regulations and company policies. In high-risk industries like oil and gas, especially under companies like SABIC experience projects, the Safety Officer plays an essential role in preventing accidents, reducing hazards, and promoting a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities

The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring all site activities to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations. This includes conducting daily inspections of work areas, identifying potential hazards, and recommending corrective actions before incidents occur. The officer must ensure that all workers are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe working procedures at all times. Another key responsibility is conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings to educate workers about risks and preventive measures. The Safety Officer also investigates accidents or near-miss incidents, prepares detailed reports, and suggests improvements to prevent recurrence. Coordination with site supervisors, engineers, and project managers is essential to maintain smooth and safe operations. Additionally, the officer ensures that all permits, certifications, and safety documents are valid and properly maintained according to project requirements.


Skills and Knowledge

SABIC experience is mandatory for this role, along with a minimum of four years working experience in Saudi Arabia.
