Role Summary

The Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring daily site activities and ensuring that all workers comply with established safety procedures. The role includes conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, and implementing corrective actions to reduce risks. The officer will also ensure that safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, harnesses, and protective clothing are properly used by all workers. Regular safety meetings and toolbox talks will be conducted to educate workers about potential risks and safe working practices. Coordination with supervisors and project engineers will be required to maintain continuous safety compliance across all operations.

Core Duties

The main duties include inspecting the worksite regularly, reporting unsafe practices, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety standards. The Safety Officer will also be responsible for maintaining safety documentation, incident reports, and risk assessment records. Conducting emergency drills and ensuring preparedness for hazardous situations is also part of the role. In addition, the officer will monitor scaffolding, welding, lifting, and other high-risk activities to ensure they are performed safely. Continuous communication with management and site teams is essential to maintain a strong safety culture throughout the project.

Required Expertise

Candidates must have prior experience working as a Safety Officer in industrial or construction environments. A valid KEMIYA authorization card is mandatory for eligibility. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk control methods is required. Applicants should have the ability to conduct safety training sessions and enforce safety discipline among workers. Good communication skills and leadership qualities are essential for effective coordination at site level. Familiarity with Saudi industrial safety standards and previous Gulf experience will be considered a strong advantage. Physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging site conditions are also necessary.
