Description
This job role focuses on maintaining high-level safety standards and proper permit-to-work systems within an industrial project environment. The Safety Officers and Work Permit Receivers (WPR) are responsible for ensuring that all site activities are conducted safely and in compliance with Aramco-approved procedures. The purpose of this role is to prevent workplace accidents, manage hazardous operations, and ensure that all workers follow safety regulations strictly. In industries like oil and gas, these positions are extremely important as even a small safety lapse can lead to major operational risks. Therefore, candidates must be highly alert, disciplined, and familiar with site safety systems.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Officer Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards
- Ensure full compliance with Aramco safety standards
- Monitor use of PPE and enforce safety regulations
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions
- Prepare and submit daily safety reports
Work Permit Receiver (WPR) Responsibilities:
- Review and verify work permits before job execution
- Ensure all safety requirements are met before starting work
- Coordinate with supervisors and safety teams
- Control hazardous activities under permit system
- Maintain proper documentation of permits and approvals
Both roles must work closely with site engineers and management to ensure smooth, safe, and incident-free operations.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must have strong knowledge of industrial safety procedures, especially Aramco standards and permit-to-work systems. Experience in oil & gas or large construction projects will be highly preferred. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively, respond quickly in emergency situations, and understand technical safety instructions. A valid Aramco approval is mandatory for both Safety Officers and WPR positions. Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation will be an added advantage. The ability to work under pressure in challenging site environments is essential for success in these roles.
