Description
The Safety Officer position is designed to oversee and enforce all safety procedures at the job site. This role is especially important in industrial locations such as Ras Tanura and Saffaniyah, where heavy machinery, high-pressure systems, and complex operations are common. The main purpose of this job is to minimize risk and ensure compliance with Aramco safety standards. The Safety Officer conducts regular inspections, monitors workforce activities, and ensures that all workers are following proper safety guidelines. This role is essential in maintaining a safe working environment and preventing any incidents that could affect project timelines or worker wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer is responsible for conducting daily site inspections, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring immediate corrective actions are taken. The role includes monitoring compliance with safety protocols, conducting toolbox talks, and ensuring all workers use proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Additionally, the Safety Officer must investigate accidents or near-miss incidents and prepare detailed reports for management review. They also coordinate with site supervisors and engineers to ensure that all operations are carried out safely and according to approved procedures. Maintaining safety documentation and ensuring compliance with Aramco-approved standards is a critical part of the job.
Skills and Knowledge
A qualified Safety Officer must have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, particularly Aramco standards and Saudi Arabian construction safety laws. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to conduct risk assessments, and experience in handling emergency situations. A minimum of 6 years of Aramco experience in Saudi Arabia is required, along with valid documentation such as Absher Iqama, Muqeem Insurance, GOSI, and complete medical and work experience records. Strong leadership, observation skills, and the ability to train workers on safety procedures are also essential for this role.
