Key Responsibilities
The Fire Watch personnel must continuously monitor welding, cutting, and grinding activities to ensure no fire risks develop. They must remain alert, use fire extinguishing equipment when needed, and report hazards immediately. Standby Men are responsible for monitoring workers in confined spaces, ensuring proper entry permits are followed, and acting quickly in case of emergencies.
General Helpers support skilled workers by carrying tools, preparing materials, cleaning work areas, and assisting in basic operational tasks. All workers are expected to follow safety instructions strictly, wear proper PPE, and maintain discipline at the worksite. Coordination with supervisors and adherence to industrial safety standards is mandatory for all positions.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates should have basic knowledge of industrial safety practices and site behavior rules. Fire Watch and Standby Man roles require strong attention to detail, alertness, and the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Previous experience in industrial projects is preferred but not always mandatory, especially for helper positions.
Workers must understand the importance of teamwork, communication, and following instructions from supervisors. Basic physical fitness is required due to the demanding nature of site work. Knowledge of safety equipment usage such as fire extinguishers, gas detectors, and PPE is considered an advantage for applicants.
