Description
The Forklift Operator role in this Yanbu shutdown project plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth material handling operations within industrial and maintenance environments. This position is essential for safely lifting, moving, and transporting heavy materials, equipment, and supplies required during plant shutdown activities. Shutdown projects are highly time-sensitive, and efficient forklift operations directly contribute to maintaining workflow continuity and reducing operational delays. Operators must work in coordination with site supervisors and logistics teams to ensure materials are delivered accurately and safely to designated locations. In industrial zones like Yanbu, where large-scale maintenance and turnaround projects are frequent, skilled forklift operators are highly valued for their role in supporting productivity and maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of a Forklift Operator is to safely operate forklifts of 3-ton and 5-ton capacity for loading, unloading, and transporting materials within the project site. Operators must ensure proper handling of goods to prevent damage and maintain inventory accuracy during shutdown operations. They are required to inspect the forklift before use, report any mechanical issues, and follow all safety procedures strictly. Coordination with warehouse staff, supervisors, and site engineers is necessary to ensure materials are moved efficiently and on time. The operator must also follow site traffic rules, maintain proper stacking of materials, and ensure safe movement in busy industrial zones. During shutdown periods, speed and accuracy are critical, as delays can affect the entire maintenance schedule, making this role highly important for project success.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have proven experience in operating forklifts, especially in industrial or shutdown environments. A valid forklift operating certificate is required along with a strong understanding of safety protocols in construction and oil & gas industries. Applicants should be familiar with handling heavy loads, reading basic inventory instructions, and performing routine equipment checks. Knowledge of workplace safety standards, especially in Saudi industrial zones, is essential. Physical fitness is required due to the demanding nature of shutdown work. Experience with Ajeer registration and compliance documentation is highly preferred. Strong attention to detail, responsibility, and the ability to work under pressure are key qualities for success in this role.
