These job roles are essential components of industrial safety management systems in Saudi Arabia. Safety Officers are responsible for enforcing safety rules, monitoring compliance, and ensuring that all operations follow approved procedures. Fire Watch personnel are assigned to observe hot work activities such as welding and cutting, ensuring that no fire hazards develop during operations. Standby Men are deployed in confined space entry work to provide emergency support and ensure worker safety at all times. Together, these roles form a strong safety framework that helps prevent incidents and ensures smooth execution of critical industrial projects in SAFCO, HADEED, and KEMYA locations.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include continuous monitoring of site activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and permit-to-work systems. Safety Officers must conduct regular inspections, identify unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions immediately. Fire Watch personnel are required to maintain constant vigilance during hot work operations and respond quickly to any signs of fire risk. Standby Men are responsible for maintaining readiness during confined space operations and assisting in emergency rescue procedures if required. All personnel must prepare safety reports, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure all safety equipment is properly used and maintained on site.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must possess strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures. Experience in SAFCO, HADEED, or KEMYA approved projects is highly preferred. Applicants should be physically fit and capable of working in demanding industrial environments. Understanding of work permits, safety documentation, and risk assessment procedures is essential for these roles. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team are also important, as coordination with engineers, supervisors, and workers is a daily requirement. Safety certifications and previous Gulf experience will be considered a strong advantage for selection.
